Blog # 6 The Networked Student
This was a very interesting video. It explained in detail how students are to communicate with each other using the internet. It also shows the different ways student can use social networking systems and programs. I found this video to be very informative.
Before watching this video the question was asked, “Are you prepared to teacher of a networking student.”I believe that I will be ready to teach a networked student in t he near future, if I am correctly prepared. According to the video a teacher of a networking student does the following:
The teacher helps him build his network and take advantage of network opportunities. She offers guidance when it is needed. She also helps the student he gets stuck on a problem. Lastly, the teacher makes sure that her student has achieved proper communication skills, and knows when and how to ask for help. With the correct guidance and professional training, I believe that I will be ready to teach a networked student. It seems to be a great way to push any student into a world of technology and challenge them to become a better person.

Jessica,
ReplyDeleteI agree that the networked student does learn more about technology and is definitely challenged to grow and learn independently. I believe teachers have to be ready for this new age student, and we must prepare ourselves to be able to operate the technology and also assist the students. It will be hard work, but I believe this is where education is going, and we have to be ready.
I agree with you; technology is continuously changing and rapidly evolving. We, as future teachers, need to be as prepared as possible for the technology that we may be presented with or responsible for using in our teaching methods. We need to know how to utilize every means of technology in our reach in order to connect with all students. Jamie Lynn is right; it is going to be tough so all we can do is be prepared.
